Metabolic Rate is a measure of how quickly your body expends energy – your ‘caloric burn rate’.

Resting metabolic rate testing determines how many calories your body burns at rest, giving you the information required to plan a successful weight loss, weight gain, or weight maintenance plan to properly fuel yourself.

Please adhere to the following recommendations prior to your test to optimize your test results:

  • Do not eat, exercise, or drink coffee or alcohol for 5 hours prior
  • Do not smoke 2 hours prior
  • Do not participate in vigorous or high-intensity weight training 12 hours prior
  • Arrive rested and relaxed

What to wear:

Comfortable workout clothing.

What to expect:

  • You will be fitted with and wear a face mask and a heart rate (HR) monitor chest strap
  • You will relax in a reclined position for ~20 minutes breathing normally into the mask.

Results:

  • You will receive your results at the completion of the test and a copy of the results will be sent to you.
