Please adhere to the following recommendations to optimize your test results:

  • Avoid high intensity exercise for at least 24 hours before test
  • No caffeine, tobacco, alcohol or stimulating drinks
  • Be well rested on test day – optimize sleep and recovery before test day
  • Continue medications as usual

What to wear:

Comfortable workout clothing for intense exercise.

What to bring:

Bottle of water, if desired
Additional clothes to change into after, if desired
A positive attitude!

What to expect:

You will be fitted with and wear a face mask and a heart rate (HR) monitor chest strap
You will have the opportunity to gently warm up in any way you prefer (recommendations can always be provided), then move to the bike or treadmill for testing.
You will wear the mask & HR monitor while you perform a maximal exercise test (on either the treadmill or bike)
You will have a 5 – 20’ warm up at an easy pace (depending on general fitness level)
After the warm up, the intensity will get progressively harder each minute until you are no longer able to continue/exhaustion.
This is a MAXIMAL test, so expect to WORK HARD!

Results:

We will have general results at the completion of the test. You will receive your detailed report within 1 week from testing once reviewed and analyzed.

Follow up appointments can be made to review results and actionable steps.
